Guy Hever was born on 30th May 1977 in Tel Aviv. He later moved with his parents Rina and Eitan to the northern community of Kochav Yair. Guy is an older brother to twins Shir and Or, who celebrated their respective Bat and Bar Mitzvah knowing that their elder brother was being held somewhere, against his will.

On 16th August 1997 Arad’s parents spent the day with him before Guy returned to his unit in the Golan Heights. The following day, Guy left his base to return home carrying only his weapon and keys.

Later that day he was reportably seen standing at the Katzabiya junction, a kilometre away from the Syrian border. Guy Hever had disappeared without a trace. A book, ‘Quantum Leap’ by C J Henderson was found at this post in the watchtower.

To this day the family are continuing to pursue every possible avenue to the whereabouts of Guy.
